Meet Boyan Michev

Boyan Michev, born in Sofia, has been profoundly shaped by a diverse and dynamic career path, as well as a wide array of personal and professional experiences that have collectively molded his unique perspective on life and work. From his early days in media monitoring to his later roles in the pharmaceutical industry and his current focus on digital accessibility, Boyan’s journey reflects a deep commitment to growth, adaptability, and the pursuit of meaningful impact.
Boyan’s professional experience spans different industries. His first role was in media monitoring and analysis, where he spent a decade observing radio and TV broadcasts. This experience honed his analytical skills and provided insights into how media reaches diverse audiences. Later, he transitioned to the pharmaceutical sector, working for an international contract research organization. During his three years there, he appreciated the discipline, diversity, and challenges of an international team, which greatly contributed to his strong work ethic.
Beyond his professional roles, Boyan has dedicated time to volunteering with multiple NGOs. He played a key role in coordinating youth programs aimed at supporting visually impaired individuals across the EU, a cause close to his heart.
His transition to working as an accessibility QA at AIOPSGROUP, a valantic company, came unexpectedly. After learning about the company’s digital accessibility services through a media appearance, he decided to explore this opportunity. Reflecting on this shift, Boyan shares, “I can’t run away from using assistive technologies – I need them to inform, educate, and entertain myself. To extract the information I need, I always had to make things work myself. Making this a part of my career development came serendipitously.”
Currently residing in the seaside town of Balchik, Boyan embraces the tranquility of his surroundings. While the town offers a slower pace of life, he remains passionate about traveling, exploring new places, and revisiting those that hold special memories. Ancient ruins, castles, and historic towers captivate his imagination, serving as tangible connections to the past. He also enjoys cultural experiences such as concerts, sports events, and theatre performances, striving for a well-rounded lifestyle.
Looking ahead, Boyan Michev has a personal goal in mind: running a marathon. Though he has yet to begin training, it’s a challenge he hopes to take on in the future.
Boyan’s story is one of adaptability, passion, and a continuous pursuit of growth, both personally and professionally. His work in accessibility not only contributes to improving digital experiences but also highlights the importance of lived experience in driving meaningful change.
