CX Monitoring

A story of digital resilience

When performance is everything, visibility is power. Partnering with AIOPSGROUP, a valantic company, our client harnessed Splunk Observability to gain real-time insights, ensure continuous uptime, and deliver seamless shopping experiences across every digital touchpoint.

About the client

A major North American children’s apparel brand serving millions of families across the US, Canada, and online, operating one of the highest-traffic retail ecosystems in its category. Performance, reliability, and seamless customer journeys are essential to maintaining trust and driving revenue.

The brief

The organization set out to gain full visibility across its digital landscape and customer-facing platforms. The goal was to continuously track critical user workflows – from login through to checkout – detect anomalies within minutes, and automate escalation paths. A unified observability approach was required, built on Splunk Observability Cloud and tightly integrated with Jira and Microsoft Teams to support real-time collaboration between business and engineering teams.

The solution

In close collaboration with the customer’s technical leadership, AIOPSGROUP, a valantic company designed and implemented a comprehensive end-to-end observability program inside Splunk Observability Cloud:

  • Automated synthetic workflows covering critical user journeys, including registered and guest checkout flows across US and Canadian digital properties.
  • Synthetic monitoring from more than 20 strategic locations across the US and Canada to ensure consistent regional coverage.
  • Advanced alerting logic focused on 5xx errors, missing functionality, and workflow failures, enhanced with automated retries to reduce alert noise.
  • Multi-channel escalation via Jira, Microsoft Teams, and email, enabling rapid response and full incident traceability.
  • Custom dashboards visualizing uptime, Core Web Vitals (LCP, TBT, CLS), and Lighthouse scores to support continuous performance optimization.
  • Operational playbooks enabling fast root cause identification and streamlined remediation.

The results

The initiative delivered real-time observability across the entire digital ecosystem, giving teams immediate, actionable insight into performance and customer experience.

  • Critical issues detected and resolved within 2-5 minutes.
  • Improved uptime stability across US East, US West, and Canadian regions.
  • Full transparency through unified Jira and Microsoft Teams workflows.
  • Enhanced visibility through Splunk dashboards combining synthetic monitoring with Web Vitals performance data.
  • Scalable architecture supporting expansion into additional monitoring use cases, including digital asset and image performance tracking.

Today, the organization proactively manages digital performance, prevents disruption, and protects every customer journey – strengthening reliability and trust as core pillars of its digital commerce strategy.
